Project Overview:
Interactive digital poetry installation, developed for browser under mentor Jeff Tanton (VP of Creative at Mediatonic) for Creative Youth Development Award
Roles and responsibilities
Design
nonlinear narrative design, visual scripting in Twine, design documentation, bug fixing, gameplay scripting, visual design direction, remotely lead team, project managing and successfully adapting creative brief to collaborators’ skillsets and time constraints
Writing
writing 16 poems that can be combined into any 4 to create a compelling story, writing all supporting material, commissioner management, created pitch deck, image editing, cost out (time and funding) tasks across Art, UI, UX, Animation, Coding, and Audio Engineering, business writing to secure in-kind funding and space for physical installation

Pitched for a year-long funding award offered by Creative Youth Foundation, connected with mentor, solo developed the prototype in Twine, wrote all materials, iterated with key stakeholders, exhibited at festival
Approach
I approached this as an opportunity to build my skillset - it was an ambitious project designed to stretch all skills associated with narrative game design/writing.

Team collaboration
Worked with Jeff Tanton (VP of Creative at Mediatonic) and various freelance collaborators across Art, UI, UX, Animation, Audio Engineering for the design process. Liaised and provided updates for exhibiting work with commissioners across the Creative Youth Development Award team
Result and impact
Exhibited at Fuse International Festival 2022, published at itchi.io and in Barbican Young Poets’ showcase
Reflection and improvement
This project is one of my favourites, but not possible to complete with the available funding. I have been much better at scoping work ever since! I’m very proud of the non-linear combinatorial storytelling capabilities, and creating impact with limited tools.
